2015 Project Title: Crying Out To Me Artist: Danny Riddle Label: Somebody Productions Reviewed By: Carol Lawson AGM
Danny’s style is County gospel with some Southern Gospel Sounds. He has a smooth tenor voice and is backed with a choir on his selections. He is a songwriter and writes most of his music. On this project, 11 of the 13 selections were written by Danny. Each song has a message and is an easy listen.  Starting off the project is "Wayfaring Stranger," a familiar song that has been recorded by many over the years. A peppy, upbeat one is "I’m Going Up" which tells about meeting Jesus in the sky and there’s A Better Home waiting for us that Jesus has gone to prepare. A great reminder, "If God Be For Us" says who can be against us and we have nothing to fear with Him on our side, and "My Father’s Love" makes us want to sing and praise Him.  The title cut, "Crying Out To Me," tells that He sees our pains and agony but no one loves us like He does. That is a great message we all need to hear every day. "Ready Or Not" tells us that He is coming soon, so we need to be born again.  Other songs include "Book Of Life," "You’re A Big Shot," "Seasons Of Friendship" and "Won’t Be Lonely Anymore" which reminds us He is our one true friend that is always there. "Put Your Hand In Mine" reminds us that we need follow Him and He will provide for us. Finishing up this project is "Thank You For Being A Friend," another familiar tune.  Again, great messages are found in all these songs. If you like Country Style Gospel Music, you will find this CD one for your collection.

Music News Nashville Project Review "Here Today" 2012 Reviewer: Chuck Dauphin Fans of Southern Gospel music may remember Danny Riddle as a young artist in that field. He definitely had success in it, while also embarking on a radio career that saw him host the successful Gospel show Reach Out. His new recording once again sees him plowing new ground, while trying to change lives via his music ministry. He doesn't get heavy with his music or lay the preaching on too much, so when he does…you know it's from the heart, like he does on the lament "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow." These are definitely words to live by, and he performs them quite well. He then turns to the light and easy sounds of "One More Mountain To Climb" as well as the exceptional song "The Potter." There are sixteen great performances on this project, and Riddle just has a way with them that you feel like you're having a conversation with an old friend. He gives a new sound to classics like "Are You Washed In The Blood" and "Power In The Blood," and makes you sing along with tunes like "Brush Arbor Meeting." With his energetic approach to making records, I bet he is one amazing act to see live! Fans of Southern Gospel will really appreciate this warm and moving collection! Southern Gospel Music Forum Project Review "Old Time Religion" October 2009 Reviewer: Scott Evans Danny Riddle has been a long time supporter of the Southern Gospel Music Forum. We have reviewed a number of projects over the years and have enjoyed all of them. This project from Danny is actually an older one but we somehow missed it and thought it was time to review it. This project is nothing short of awesome! The song selection includes many classic songs in Southern Gospel Music and several hymns of the church. The end result is a project filled with fourteen favorite songs that have been blessing people for years and thanks to Danny will continue to bless many people. My favorite songs from the project are: "Don't Be Afraid" "Oh I Want To See Him" "The Old Rugged Cross" The entire project is great and if you love the old songs you should get a copy! Riddle gives each and every one of these time-honored Gospel songs a spirited performance. As someone who is very steeped in the Southern Gospel tradition, Riddle knows how special these songs are to the listener. So, he wisely doesn’t try to take away anything – or add anything to the songs- just let them live and breathe on their own merits. This album contains a mixture of classic songs such as “Old Time Religion,” “Put Your Hand In The Hand,” and “Peace In The Valley,” as well as newer songs like “First Day In Heaven,” “Old Gospel Ship,” and “Don’t Be Afraid.” Riddle sparkles on each cut, and his delivery should give his listeners a lot of hope in the process! I want the songs to be a reflection of God’s love,” says Christian artist Danny Riddle in a past interview with a Southern Gospel Music Magazine. That is certainly the mission of his latest CD from his music ministry, “Crying Out To Me.” This Central Florida performer has a hand in writing 11 of the 13 songs on the album, and whether it’s Sunday or any other day, his listeners will be taken to church. Riddle opens with “Wayfaring Stranger” – the enduring standard from the early 19th century – that’s nicely country-ed up with pedal steel, and his title track is a folk piece with big layered harmonies in the chorus. By far, his choruses are his mainstay, where he’s surrounded by swelling music and a choir. Riddle shows a theatrical-stage flair at times, but he’s at his best when he captures that “little white church in the pines” sound. Old-timey Southern Gospel pieces like “If God Be For Us” and his stand-out “There’s A Better Home” feature lively fiddles, church piano and harmonica, while Riddle sings with humble conviction.
